App Store had reached 10,000 apps (depending on your level of measurement). It's now been confirmed by Apple, with a full-page ad than ran in Friday's edition of both The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.
The ad (above, click to enlarge) states that over 300 million applications have been downloaded from the App Store. That software catalog now tops 10,000 applications. Whereas earlier reports were unsubstantiated, this information, straight from Apple, confirms it.
When Apple released their Top iTunes downloads list earlier this week, Apple doesn't release individual download numbers for any of these apps, or for music or videos either. So there's no way of knowing how many of say, Pandora Radio or say, Sudoku.
However, what we do know is how popular the App Store is. The App Store has reached 10,000 apps in less than six months.
