Man is a warm blooded creature that bears live young and produces milk on which to feed them, so he belongs to the group called mammals, But man walks upright on two legs and has very little hair on his body.
Man's brain is much more developed than animal's brains and he can think, work out problems and form abstract ideas and speak. He does not always have to be able to see and feel something before he can think about it. Abstract ideas include love, friendship and beauty, which we all understand although we cannot see them.
Man's brain and his power to speak allow him to pass on his ideas to others. Man is also unusual in the way he uses his hands, to handle tools, write and create works of art such as paintings and sculpture. Because of these abilities, man is the only creature on Earth to have civilisation and culture, art, religion and science.
